High-quality medicines information
The Medicines Information Network has engaged in collaboration to produce a body of materials entitled “Towards high-quality medicines information”. The purpose of the materials is to make visible the significance of medicines information and advice in successful medicinal treatment and in the safeguarding of medication safety. The body of works supports the competence of and cooperation between health care professionals and describes the role of different professionals and chronically ill patients in the medicinal treatment process.
The patient and the medicine user are at the centre of high-quality medicines information. A key question is whether medicines information or advice contribute to achieving the treatment objectives set together with the patient. The patient and the medicine user also have the right to receive information about their treatments.
The materials will be published during 2019 and 2020 and their content will be evaluated and updated by means of regular update rounds conducted in the Medicines Information Network.
