New decree on fees chargeable by the Finnish Medicines Agency entered into force on 1 April 2017
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has issued a decree on fees chargeable under public law by the Finnish Medicines Agency. The new decree (178/2017) replaces the old decree (210/2016). The new decree entered into force on 1 April 2017 and will be effective until 31 March 2018.
The Decree of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health on fees chargeable by the Finnish Medicines Agency was adopted at the Cabinet Finance Committee. The new decree marks an increase in certain licence and inspection fees payable by operators in the pharmaceutical sector as well as in special authorisations and annual fees for medicinal products.
Statements on the draft degree were received from seven pharmaceutical industry operators. In the preparation, it was appreciated that Fimea monitors the cost correlation of its chargeable operations on a systematic basis and creates transparency for pricing, but the agency should also consider reducing some of the fees.
