Adverse drug effects (ADRs)
My cat was vaccinated and developed swelling around the vaccination site? Luckily it passed fairly quickly. What can I do to make sure this does not happen again?
If you have not already done so, get in touch with your vet to tell them what happened. Your vet will then notify the Fimea ADR register. If you would prefer, you can also notify Fimea yourself, using this form.
All reported ADRs are analysed at Fimea and the information is used to assess the safety and efficacy of the medicine in question. If we receive a number of reports on the same medicine or if the side effects are particularly severe, Fimea may take action to amend the way the medicine is used, the information provided to consumers and the medicine may even be withdrawn from the market.
