A plan for the European medicines regulatory network to safeguard operations in the event of a prolonged corona pandemic

2.6.2020

The European Medicines Agency, together with the EU Member States and the European Commission, has published a plan for safeguarding the key functions of the medicines regulatory network during the corona pandemic with regard to marketing authorisations for medicines intended for human and veterinary use and ensuring safety.

The plan supports the allocation of resources to expedite the development of a medicinal treatment and vaccine against the coronavirus, while at the same time seeking to ensure the functioning of the medicines regulatory system as a whole and with regard to all medicines. Where necessary, the work will be continued within the network.
