Interprofessional network

Interprofessional network

In 2012, Fimea constructed a interprofessional network to rationalise the pharmacotherapy of aged persons. The network operated during 2012—2015. The network consisted of a development network with an ambient extensive cooperation network and a support team serving as a coordinator.

The core of the network was built up by the closely knit development network. It was compiled from local interprofessional development teams covering a patient’s pharmacotherapy path as extensively as possible. The development teams included doctors and nurses or other professionals in the fields of health care and pharmacy, working in the same locality.

The development network was surrounded by a broad cooperation network consisting of stakeholders and authorities.
